5 Answers to your most common questions!

Have you ever wondered about these concerns? Or even if concerns are interrelated?

You're not alone!

In addition to of course fielding many questions about #hormonebalance - I commonly find myself talking about these associated symptoms that those pesky (yet loving) hormones may be causing!

  • What can I do for sleep?

So much! Start with turning off electronics about an hour before bed, nixing food intake about 2-3 hours before, and hold off on water intake around that time as well. I do prefer more gentle supplements like magnesium & l-theanine, but ideally we take a look at exactly what your cortisol curve/ stress leves are doing.

  • Why am I always tired

Overstressed, diet, draining relationships/ people, lack of motivation, not feeling creative or inspired, blood sugar issues, adrenal health (big one!), thyroid, low/ imbalanced sex hormones, poor sleep.. there's a lot (including what hasn't been mentioned). And definitely consider water intake :) (I do see this as a common culprit!)

  • How can I reduce inflammation

Cooking wise, turmeric blends tend to be a great option, as well as aiming for healthy fats (i.e. fish, avocado). However, consider how/when you don't feel good and that may provide additional clues to hopefully then communicating to your practitioner to further get to the underlying issue.

  • I crave sweets/ salt- why?

Food cravings can be anything from hormone imbalance, adrenal issues, thyroid issues, imbalance of gut bacteria (our gut bacteria can dictate what we like), to even a mental/emotional reason of the sweetness of life, or what we fear, respectively. Anything happening in your life recently too? Both perspectives can provide clarity.

  • My bloodwork is normal and I still don’t feel good

This is a rough feeling. Could mean we need more than a snapshot in time like a saliva or urine test for various hormones throughout the day, or even some gut health tests. Lastly, narrowing ranges (i.e. especially thyroid hormone - TSH) can be telling, as well as even some additional bloodwork.
